Conservation of Populations, Species, and Ecosystems
My research is focused on lake macrophytes and overall lake health in the metro area of the Twin Cities. This includes studying the native macrophytes as well as invasives such as Eurasian watermilfoil and Curlyleaf pondweed. My thesis will include information on how populations in these lakes have changed over time, and potential improvements with treatments for invasive species. I am also researching a potential new macrophytes index to classify lakes based on macrophyte abundance.
